Here’s how to begin answering these questions…

Phone Conversation

We need to know a few things which will help us in determining if McGrady-Lambert Electric, Inc. is the appropriate contractor for your building or remodeling needs, such as: When you would like your project to begin and what stage of construction are you currently at? We can provide you with a bid based on your ideas. Please contact us at (540) 375-7112 or send an email to info@mcgradylambertelectric.com to get started.

In-Home / On-Site Meeting

We will meet with you to discuss, in detail the scope of your project and your goals. The meeting generally takes approximately 1-2 hours and there is no cost to you and no obligation. At this time we may take site measurements or ask to see prints. This is a good time to ask questions about how the process works.

Proposal / Bid

McGrady-Lambert Electric, Inc utilizes your ideas and specifications taken from the on-site meeting to prepare a written proposal with recommendations and outline any options available to you for your particular project. This is our formal bid for your new construction or remodel project, with an estimated timeline and the project’s anticipated scope of work.

Selection / Pre-Construction

Once your plans are approved, the next step would be to enter into a construction contract so that the actual work can begin.

The contract describes the scope of the job, the cost of the job, and lists the work to be performed. The contract also includes fee structure and payment schedule.

Construction

With McGrady-Lambert Electric, Inc., you receive individual attention from start to finish. Your electrical project will be completed in two stages. First, the electrical rough-in includes the installation of all wiring prior to the hanging of dry wall. Secondly, the electrical trim-out includes the installation of light fixtures, switches, and receptacles after the walls have been completed including plaster and / or paint. Communication is the key to completing a quality, on time project to your specifications. Your rough-in wiring begins after an on-site walk through of the area to be constructed or remodeled in order to confirm the details of your project. Items covered include: identifying areas that need to be cleared or protected, determining the exact locations of lighting and electrical devices, and inspecting the site to determine if all of the work necessary to begin the electrical rough-in has been completed.

Change Orders

Any change to the scope of your project may be handled with a change order. Change orders can arise from a building official’s request or simply at the owner’s discretion. Change orders are considered addendums to the construction contract and may affect the project completion date and price.

Post-Construction

When your project nears completion, the electrician conducts a walk-through with you to identify any outstanding items. Any changes or additions that need to be made prior to completion should be noted at this time.

At this time we may ask for your permission to take photographs for our Showcase Gallery. We are proud of our finished projects, and we rely on your referrals.

Thank you for taking the time to review our site. We hope it has helped you with your decisions. Please contact us at (540) 375-7112 or mcgradylambert@yahoo.com to get started.
